Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, the integration of students with disabilities in the educational and social field has progressed and, in this sense, it is shows how, based on respect for diversity, educational institutions play a key role in the construction and development of training and learning spaces among the members of the participating community. Despite this, there are few innovative proposals carried out in schools for the inclusion of students with disabilities, and there are limitations from a practical point of view, both at the curricular and organizational and professional levels.

Thus, given the plurality of educational needs presented by students with disabilities and given the right of all people to education without any type of discrimination, the promotion of inclusive practices embedded in the global dynamics of the school and based on responsibility and commitment to educational quality is demanded. For this, it is essential to develop processes of reflection, debate, innovation and educational research in real contexts, so that all members of the educational community participate actively and collaboratively to build together a flexible curricular project according to the needs of each student.

Following this line, this Special Issue focuses on the current state of knowledge on actions, resources and strategies for the educational and social inclusion of students with disabilities, from a perspective focused on the development of creative and transformative responses in educational institutions aimed at integral development of each student and equal opportunities.

We welcome a diversity of articles, such as conceptual and empirical articles, research, reviews, critical comments, and meta-analyses, for submission to this Special Issue. We will accept manuscripts from different disciplines, addressing topics related to the scope.
